A Kurdish teenager from Duhok, Dara Dildar, aged 15, was tragically stabbed to death in Cologne, Germany. His father, Dildar Mohammed, expressed his intention to take legal action against the German police and judiciary, holding them responsible for failing to protect his son
Dara was stabbed nine times on the outskirts of Cologne. After the incident, his body was brought back to the Kurdistan Region and laid to rest in Duhok. According to Kurdish media outlets , Dildar Mohammed narrated the events leading to his son’s untimely death. He explained That The Kurdish teenager was walking with a friend who asked him to deliver a plastic bag to a certain address in Germany . However, police detained Dara on his way as the bag contained prohibited materials in Germany.
Despite Dara being released from custody after it was found that he was unaware of the bag’s contents, he was questioned by the police about the individuals who gave him the bag. Dildar Mohammed believes that this investigation made his son a target for the perpetrators.
Dildar Mohammed expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of protection provided to his son, stating that according to international standards, a witness should be safeguarded. He criticized the authorities for not ensuring Dara’s safety, allowing the perpetrators to carry out their deadly attack.
Three individuals involved in Dara’s murder have been arrested, while warrants have been issued for six others. Dildar Mohammed stated his intention to return to Germany to file complaints against the police and judiciary for their alleged negligence in protecting his son, the Kurdish teenager , Dara.
