Starting on Friday, the highly anticipated three-day Munich Security Conference will serve as a platform for Kurdish President Nechirvan Barzani to engage in key meetings with world leaders and senior officials. These discussions will focus on addressing the security situation and overcoming the obstacles jeopardizing peace and stability in Iraq, the surrounding region, and globally, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Region Presidency.
The President intends to use this opportunity to exchange perspectives with the international community and present the viewpoints of the Kurdistan Region on these critical issues
The President arrived in Munich on Thursday and will participate in the conference, where he will stress the importance of cooperation for peace and stability in Iraq and the Middle East. He will hold discussions with international leaders to find ways to prevent further turmoil in the region.
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Region was in attendance at the last year’s conference, where he and President Barzani held a joint meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to discuss important matters. The upcoming MSC 2024 will provide a valuable platform for in-depth discussions on global security challenges. Furthermore, the conference, established in the autumn of 1963, will mark its 60th anniversary during the next main conference, as mentioned on the conference’s website.
