Jasmin Moghbeli, an American-Kurdish woman from Mahabad is leading the Crew-7 mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The Crew-7 members, including Jasmin Moghbeli, were successfully reunited with their colleagues on the ISS after the SpaceX Endurance Dragon spacecraft docked to the Harmony module on Sunday afternoon.
This exciting achievement marks another milestone in space exploration and highlights the diversity and international collaboration within the astronaut community.

The four space travelers, led by Moghbeli, are to stay and work at the orbiting lab for six months. Later, The team will expand to 11 astronauts.
She expressed her delight to have joined her colleagues on the ISS in a video conference.
Moghbeli is the first female American of Kurdish descent to lead the crew.
She was born in June 24, 1983 in West Germany. Due to the 1979 Iranian Revolution her Kurdish parents who are from Mahabad in Iranian Kurdistan (Rojhalat) fled the country.
As a US Marine Corps officer, Moghbeli has over 150 combat missions and 2,000 hours of flight time.
In January 2020, she graduated in the NASA Astronaut Candidate Training Program. Though making her “eligible for spaceflight, including assignments to the International Space Station, Artemis missions to the Moon, and ultimately, missions to Mars.
The Kurdish woman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering with Information Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
In addition to Bachelor, She holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Moghbeli has received several medals, including four Air Medals. A Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. She has also received the U.S. Navy Test Pilot School Class 144 Outstanding Developmental Phase II Award. And the Commander Willie McCool Outstanding Student Award, After being the top graduate in her class.
